Hello,
Would anyone happen to know the size I'd be after if I needed to replace the oil filter housing gasket? I'm still running a metal housing with a spring loaded bolt running up through the center.... not one of the spin-on filters. I can't seem to find the measurements in my maint. manual, and there's not a chance I'll be able to just call a parts store over here and get them to look up a replacement. So, I'm hoping I can give them some specific measurements to look up instead? Thanks, as always! |

I'd read in a past thread that there are two different types of gasket (O-ring).
I used to have the canister type and previously had no leaking issues, but the last filter I received had the incorrect type. It leaked on me but then I went ahead and did the swap to the Spin-on unit. Hope someone else can verify this about the O-ring gasket. * I just did a quick research and saw the advice was to make sure you remove the old gasket ring; which is something I failed to do, thus the leakage. Disregard my mention of the two gaskets. There should be just the one.
