I have a seat out of a Suburban and was trying to identify the exact year this pattern and material was used. Im guessing 1964 GMC but I would like to know if it was used in 1963 or 1965 1966 ? Was the same darker sides used in 64 65 66 ? Does anyone have pictures of 1963 1964 1965 1966 Suburban stock vinyl seats ? Thanks in advance, Jon

as a kid we had several suburbans and all had that fabric. I am curious as to what year pickups it came in. I have some of this fabric from SMS that will go into my '63 pickup.

That exact pattern I posted is not correct for Pickup in a 1962 or 1963. Same colors but not pattern. Pickup had a different heat formed pattern. Im going to have SMS make a seat cover for my 63 4x4 pickup.

So, will SMS "make" a cover at all? I have always had to buy material and have them done at the upholsterers

That could be. I had a 1966 Chevy vinyl seat cover or material made by them , heat formed pattern, but went through my upholsterer to get it done. I never asked who put the cover together.

Thanks Bigblock V6 . The vinyl pattern shown is the same one in my 63 4x4 also. Any idea if the Suburban seat I posted was used into 1966 ? I suppose I should explain why Im asking. I recently bought a quote "1966 GMC Panel" Everything is dated 1963 on the engine for the 1964 production year and the truck is clearly a 1964-1966 body style. Ive read a lot on Jollys site about VINs on GMCs. Two other clues are the 1960-1965 GMC grill letters and the fact that the VIN tag is riveted with round rivets instead of Rossette rivets, a characteristic of the early style of rivets . Im guessing this is a 1964 but ALL the registration papers are calling this a 1966 K1001 Panel but the VIN numbers I believe were different in 66 from whats on this tag. It came from a No Title State but I was able to get it titled here in Wisconsin but unless I have proof of some sort, it stays titled as a 1966. Any thoughts ? Also , this is a 6400 mile Civil Defense truck and stayed in the same town all its life so the, Its been tampered with, theory I feel is ruled out.

You're absolutely right, it's ruled out because it's been tampered with
