https://us.usstareveryday.com/thanhh...built-to-last/ Many years ago the GMC dealer in Wichita told my Dad that one reason the V6 was dropped was because too many dealers were complaining that their service departments weren't getting enough work because the V6 was too reliable. Of course it didn't help that the V6 weighed at least a couple hundred pounds more than a Chevy small block V8. GMC had a hard time competing with Chevy trucks on price during the '60s as a result.
