Hello everyone joined the group several year back. Been searching for here and reading a lot of post in the group while working on my 1962 GMC 1500 series with a 305D v6 w/ automatic transmission. The truck has been sitting in the woods for 35+ years.
Thanks,
Don

Thanks for posting the photo, Don. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. What have you been able to accomplish so far?

35 years is a lot of years out there in skinwalker country. First thing I'd do is get it running, then rolling. Once she's mobile again you'll probably have a really dependable and great looking truck on your hands!
Does she start and run?

Hello Ed.Have unlocked the motor and have it running & driving again. Have replaced rad holes, fan belt, spark plugs & wires, re-built carb and distributor and a few other things. Just finished changing out the gas tank with new one. Have driven it around in an open pasture since it has no brakes. That is next on the to do list.

Hello FetchMeAPespsi,
Yes, longtime sitting. Once I got the motor turning again and with a bit of work, it fired up and I started grinning like a possum eating briers. I had never heard of these trucks having a v6 in them so I have been doing a lot of research on them while working on it and I am amazed at the power these motors put out back in the day.

Welcome to the stage MoonFlyer!

Nice to hear you have it running and moving :goodjob:

Are those 15" lock-ring wheels on there?

Thanks for the welcome Funky61,
They were 8-17.5 tubeless 6 ply with the locking-ring wheels. However, they have now been changed out to 16” regular wheels from the junk yard. I did not want to mess with those “widow maker” lock-rings.
