Saginaw 343
I have two questions. My 65 C1000 has a 3-speed Saginaw 343. Does anyone have a pdf of a service manual or a detailed exploded view? Any help would be appreciated along those lines.
Second, There is a wire that comes out of the case. Is that the lead for the backup light? If it is, how do I get it to power a backup light since there is no power to the transmission? What am I missing? |

I'd not heard of a 343 Saginaw but here is a bit of what I researched that popped up and I'm not sure if it's your 343 so proceed with caution.
I hope it helps you.. Here is some info I found and links on the reverse switch concern. Re: Saginaw 343
Thanks, some of that I found before I asked the question, but there was some new stuff that was very useful.
I have never worked on a transmission before. Does the reverse switch on the transmission simply complete the negative side of the circuit to light the reverse light? |
Re: Saginaw 343
NONOMAN, that sounds correct but I'm electrically challenged so hopefully somebody else will chime in.
