Carb questions

What is the difference between a Holley 65-4412s and a 0-4412s? Or is there a difference at all? Also, can anyone id what my carb is in these pics? Thx.

Re: Carb questions
The carburetor you have is the stock Bendix/Stromberg model ww 2bbl. There may be different prefixes on the Holley carb ID but if it has 4412 on it then it's still a Holley 2300 series 500cfm 2bbl.

Re: Carb questions
Great, thank you. My truck is a little had starting and the carb is a bit leaky.
After reading about the Holley upgrade I may just buy one of those to throw on instead of going through this one. Glad I have the 2 bbl intake already as those seem hard to find. |
Re: Carb questions
The vast majority of the GMC V6 engines were 2bbl, the 1bbl version was only offered on 305A,B engines from 60-61 and actually superseded mid year 61 with the introduction of the 305D 2bbl V6 in pickup trucks.

Re: Carb questions
Thanks. After reading and considering I'm going to go with a rebuild kit for the Stromberg before purchasing a new holley. The bed kit looks like it'll cost quite a bit so $40 sounds better than $400 right now.

Re: Carb questions
it could also be fuel related. Make sure your filter in the tank is not plugged with crud before you chase a carb problem.
Been there... done that. :rowdybeer: |
