Newbie 1st post
Hello guys,
I've been a member for a while but have never posted. I have a 1965 GMC, Long bed, step side. This truck was bought new by my Great Grandfather, passed down to my Grandfather and then to me. I have had it several years now, but it spent about three years at a friends house for paint and body work that never actually happened. So, over the next few months I plan to get it back to road worthy condition and then I will start thinking about a complete restoration plan. I'll post some pics later. |

Hey Riverman,
Glad to have ya, even if you drive a step side ;). I'm a 8' wideside man myself, makes up for 'other' shortfalls ;) Kidding aside, as you have seen there is just about NO question that can't be correctly answered. Post some pictures, you're got all in suspense here....... Jake Lacombe, LA. |

Welcome, Riverman:
I like those "keepsake" stories. Most of us on here aren't hobbiests. We're addicts----to the 60-66 V-6-V12s. I like the V12s, since I worked with them in their day on irrigation engines. I like to see any of them preserved that we can. Let us see pics of your "toy" and keep us posted on your progress. |

:welcome: Riverman1.
Depending on what your inherited truck looks like, you might be in great shape as it sits. You know....... that classic patina look that you can't have put on at any price. I'm sure you will get some feedback from the other members who have already posted, and I am looking forward to taking a look-see at what you have. |
Re: Newbie 1st post
Thanks guys. I will get some pics up asap and include a little more history.
Autocross season is winding down so I should have some more time for the old PU, which, by the way, everyone in my family still calls "Grandpa's Truck" One little tidbit...I too am a 1965 model and I learned to drive in this truck. |
