I've been a member for a while and have learned a tremendous amout about these old trucks.
Last night we bought a '66 GMC C1500, 305E, 3OTT, PS, PB, custom cab, two-tone yellow. A lot of documentation, protecto plate, old registration, old title, repair receipt. Close to 100% original. Somebody repained bottom have in non- matching paint. More pictures and a lot more questions coming later. |

Does this have a SPID and dud you check for the build sheet behind or under the seat?
|
Re: First post, finally joined the club '66 3/4ton
No spid. Looked under and behind seat. Have not pulled seat out yet. Anywhere else to look? Very interested. Lots of options. Original paint (marking on firewall) but does not appear to be '66 GMC yellow (yellow/orange)
does nunber 4669 on firewall and handwritten on warranty book mean anything? |

Welcome from the Black Hills, Dave. Great looking '66! I have a thing for the yellow. I have a '70 Jimmy and a '72 C2500. I would love to see pics and story of your '70 also in the "other rides and projects" forum if you get time!

GMCDAC, I started a thread about the 1970. It's titled 1970 GMC C2500 Ol' Green

"Banana" is pretty solid. Minimal rust (for Indiana) in rockers and cab corners. Lower front fenders. and fender arches above wheel wells. Driver bed side is dented and drivers door has typical "smiley" from broken door stop.
I have fixed the broken door stop with junk yard Cherokee door stop. We haven't had time to do anything else due to vacation. |
