Need help with VIN
 

Hi All,

I've spent hours researching the VIN on my truck and can't seem to figure out what I have. I believe the truck is a GMC based on where the VIN is located (top of the driver's door) but my pink slip says it's a 1964 Chevy. Secondly, the first four characters on the VIN are C143 and I can't find that combination anywhere. The only info I found that was close was:

C 2WD, 14 1/2 TON SHORTBED, 4 PICKUP,5 1965

The C14 makes sense because my truck is a 2WD 1/2 ton short bed but the 3 is a mystery.

The whole VIN is CHEVROLET DD C143 5Z117725... can anyone decode this for me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
