Re: Looking for Piston
I'm not sure of your question as to why you want to put a piston thru the big hole in a rod, but....
I would try some outboard motor sizes, and briggs & stratton catalogs. |
Re: Looking for Piston
It will be for display at shows, been doing some research and mite have found a few to check on.

Re: Looking for Piston
Summit racing has 2 pistons 2.904"
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ue...75mm/overview/ They also have 2 that are 2.894" which is just under 2.9". http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ue...-5mm/overview/ One is out of a 1987 Toyota L4 4-cylinder 1.5 liter Not hard to find stuff, ya just gotta look.. Good luck |
Re: Looking for Piston
PS: Just go to Summit Racing website, put in pistons, then bore size. It will give you a list of available pistons. When you click on check application, it will tell you what engine it fits.

Yes I know that I have been looking nd found a few, just need to find one I can get cheap, been watching ebay for some. |
Re: Looking for Piston
I found a piston I could use for this project, I needed to remove one rod bearing half to get it to fit. This is a 351C Piston & Rod with a Yamaha 750 Piston through the rod crank journal hole.

Re: Looking for Piston
Piston & Rod on the left are from a GMC Big Block V6 {351}, the Piston in the GMC rod is the size of many of the V6 engines in cars & Trucks today, {this one is really a Yamaha 660 Piston, it cost me $1 but its the size that counts here}. tH really small piston & Rod on the right is from a 3 cylinder Suzuki Mini Truck Engine.
