I have a 65 GMC 4X4 it has a PTO running to the front. Does anyone know if I take it off is there a block off plate for it. Or should I just pop the PTO shaft out and leave it as is.

Get yourself a 1/4" metal plate that will cover the opening on the transmission - drain the transmission, remove the PTO box and trace the box opening/ hole location using the old gasket on the metal plate - trim/drill the plate and install. You will be much happier with it removed as it's a GREAT head knocker under your truck when you working under there. After it's removed you can add it to your iron pile as it's not GMC specific and worthy of saving - as no body will use it again.

Thanks I will have to do that. At first I thought it was kind of cool but then I came to my wits and realized all it was going to do is make noise and no one would ever see it.

Good to know, thank you very much! Will probably just keep it, my g-father ordered the truck w/ it back in the day. We actually used it for a variety of things...more nostalgic for me today than anything else. Our truck really was a farm implement more than anything else
