REPORT: Adapting 60-61 Chevy hood harness for GMC
Well, there's not a lot of GMC specific stuff out there for 60-61. I ordered a Chevy hood harness. Everything looked good, except the socket leads aren't long enough -- they won't reach the parking light housings!
I was able to carefully unwrap about a foot of the harness wrap, extend the two white 18 ga wires, and the light and dark blue 18 ga wires by about 8 inches each, and rewrap the harness. Having made that slight change, the harness works perfectly! Anyone with patience and basic soldering skills can do this. If anyone wants a howto, let me know! Brian
