HI guys, just got this reprint from Ebay and thought I'd share. It's a 60-61 manual that covers models 1000-5000. Pretty much front to back every nut and bolt. Lot's of engine specs and how to's. Covers a Ton. Over 750 pages worth of info. Neat book and Great price. Very nice reprint. If any of you like reading or are interested I highly recommend it.

Yeah, I bought my manuals for my 65 from the same company, Faxon Auto Literature: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-1966-GM...item542053c0e7
Very good reprints! |

I agree! I found a 63-64 manual from a different company but I am going to check if Faxon reprints them.

Thanks for the info, I'll be ordering mine tonight. If I'm lucky it'll get here within the next month or so LOL.
I noticed that the faxon site also has a parts interchange manual: http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/1...al-P12236.aspx Is that something worth having? I guess I'm just wondering if it's one of those things where you'd find yourself going "great, this really hard to find GMC part is interchangeable with this equally hard to find Ford part." |

Not sure if I would trust that. haha Problem is they'll probably say Chevy parts interchange with GMC parts and many actually Don't.

It would be interesting to pop quiz them a bit. I've tried to find some excerpts online, but no luck.

Fwiw I have a Chevy manual with a '66 GMC supplement, works fine for the simple stuff but doesn't help with V6 motor at all.
I found this site: Www.oldcarmanualproject.com Specifically http://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/m.../image269.html Better than nothing! |

Engine overhaul manual. Note: It is a very large file. I scanned in some pages from all my manuals but the current host doesn't seem to allow access to the root directories so I have to make a web page for every scanned section. And I have been seriously lazy about it. As far as I can tell, Faxon and Bishko scan in the books and print them. They are old enough that the copyrights don't apply (I contacted the publisher myself and found out they don't seem to care if it is copied). Bishko and Faxon, back in the day when you could see who you were bidding against on eBay, would outbid almost everyone for every original manual (Bishko was the most prevalent). Scarcity makes their product more valuable. And NO ONE has the exclusive permission to reprint (as I said, I checked with the original publisher). The list of manuals I own, as well as others that *should* be out there is on this page: http://www.oeltd.net/doc/manual.htm Manuals in BOLD are ones I own. The links are, as I noted above, broken so getting to what I have already scanned in isn't available yet. I have been very lax in assisting people in this group, and keeping my manual/web pages up to date. FYI: I live with depression and chronic pain and I have not felt "well" in a while, that is my only excuse for not being more helpful here as I once was.

Pretty cool stuff.
With a publication date of 1967, how far back would the information cover? |
