I just install the HEI upgrade in my 68 C35 with the 305 . Has anyone had an issue with the vacuum advance canister location? Mine is almost hitting the drvers side valve cover. I moved the crankcase vent to help some with the fit of the HEI.
IM still in the market for a oil pan for the 305 too. |

The canister should be pointing toward the right side (see picture). The black canister (flame arrestor) in front of the distributor goes to the power brake. The distributor housing will need to be pulled and rotated clockwise with the rotor pointing in the same position. Install the distributor. When the cap is place back on then move the sparkplug wires to their new position. This was the also the way my old distributor was mounted.
