It is wired up the same way as the 235. The only different is the distributor, you didn't specified what you have. If the V8 distributor has points inside it then it is the same (no ballast resistor required). If it is a HEI, then replace the primary wire (from the firewall to the 235 coil +) with a regular wire that will go (from the firewall to the HEI +). This wire is the resistor that is require on a points system.

Any non-factory item(s) that you added (i.e. EFI) follow that installation instructions. If it a LS1 engine, you're on your own.

Also as FetchMeAPepsi had stated, this site support the GMC V6 engine. You should have went to a Chevy site for your answers, but I provided you with everything you needed to get the engine running.
