A couple of years ago I thought I would do my hood a favor and lubricate the many pivot points on the hinges.
Unfortunately, it was only the friction of those points that was holding the hood safely open! The springs have lost just enough strength to do the job.
Now I have two lightweight dowels that tuck nicely into the edges of the hood, out of sight.
Either one provides the necessary holding power and, together, redundant security.
After 56 years, I am pleased with my truck.
