It is not clear if you or your wife have driven this truck yet.
Sometime around 1971 I drove my '60 1500 though a ford (pardon me) in a local river, about 12" deep. Going down the next hill the brakes worked very poorly until they dried out.
That is the only trouble I have had with them. I suppose discs might have helped.

I also have the center mounted driveshaft emergency/parking brake. Is that unusual in a 1960 3/4?
