Lower Control arm/shaft assembling

Hi

I hope you‘re all fine and everybody had a Merry Christmas

At the moment I have the problem with assembling the lower control arm and the shaft from my 1965 1500. In the manual the measur on the left side is 3,5“. On the right 2,208“ The 3,5“ is ok but the 2,208“ - no way. Please see the pics

Maybe anyone could help me :)
