Engine Isolators
3 Attachment(s)
Picked up some parts to start the 478M swap into my '72 K20. The rubber mounts that came with the cross member are a bit tired.
Attachment 6638 Are these the same mounts that were used on all V6 pickups throughout the years? Attachment 6639 Attachment 6640 Has anyone found a different mount that can be made to work? Even if I could find new ones, I doubt they would stand up to the built V6 that I am going to be swapping into the pickup... |
Re: Engine Isolators
Steele Rubber Company will re vulcanize for about $110. They will stand up to anything you can build. There is also information on aftermarket poly mounts that can be used. Discussion found in "Search" here on 6066.

The other mounts you can use will require drilling new holes, it's an Energy Suspension polyurethane mount #3-1108 in gold plated or the #3-1132 in chrome plated. This mount is used as a transmission mount in many GM applications, also used on Jeeps. I just installed one on my Jeep several weeks ago |
