Is there a difference between 62 and 63 suspension/frame
I have a 1962 GMC step side that I just finishing stripped down to the cab and frame I plan on putting air ride suspension on it. The only thing with that is I find a lot of suspension parts for a 63 and newer but not for a 62. Does anyone know the difference between them or can I just use the 63 aftermarket part. thanks for any info in advance

Welcome Showboat!
This thread discusses the removal of the Torsion bar and cupping the lower A arm to add an air bag. Not sure if that's what you were trying to accomplish or do you just wish to rebuild as stock for now? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=275425 |

SHOWBOAT, this is Lewis Matkin. If you have front coil springs, chances are that the truck was damaged at some time in its life and the cab was replaced with a 62 cab. the 63 was the first year front coil springs were available on a gm truck. Gmc's would have been equipped with rear leaf springs.
