Weather-strip that WORKS for our doors
There is a thread going on over at the 67-72 BB on weather-strip that works for our doors. The important thing is that the weather-strip that has been found is a push on type.
I ordered my from Classic Parts Catalog Number 03-13B. You wont find a pictures in their printed version, but if you type in this part number in the search block on the website it will pop up. This is the direct link from their page. http://www.classicparts.com/1960-66-.../#.WByBa03luUk I will put them on Saturday morning and post pics. NOW if we can ONLY find the better made window whiskers........ The thread is below with several pictures. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=721217 |

Thank you for sharing this type stuff with the group Jake - I have not had to cross this bridge yet on my own 60 GMC project but will be leaning on you for advice when I do

Re: Weather-strip that WORKS for our doors
Although I am a proponent of Steele Rubber Products for all of the rubber products you can order for the 60-66 GMC (and Chevy) trucks, I am not too fond of the door weatherstripping- it is very tough stuff and your doors WILL NOT close because there is so much resistance to the gap between the door shell and body channel. I took to another outfit, SoffSeal.com and found that their door weatherstripping is much softer, but does provide for a good seal, and your doors will have no problem with this product.

OK here are the pictures I promised, sorry for being late but I was in "The Odd Couple" play this weekend - what a gas. Notice in the "Seal Inner Brace" pictures, the seal comes with a inner tube to help hold and keep the gasket together. Took less than 10 minutes to get in on and light tapping with soft-face rubber mallet to make sure it seated 100%.
It will be a job for me to remove the glue from the other side, took 15 minutes to clean a 12" section.:pullinghairout: |

I had the same problem with my 73 camero. Could not close doors with seals bought from classic industries. Got seals from softseal and they worked fine

I'm guessing you were Oscar in the play?

Nope, just one of the poker players called Roy, in the movie- it's the guy complaining about the heat, stink and mess.
