Anti rattle, window wiper strips
I am on my 2nd set of these items. They go on the top edge of the door on both sides of the glass to keep the junk out and keep the window from rattling. Both sets, one from LMC and the other from Brothers, just don't work right. what happens is that the mount points are too high on the channel , keeps it too low and the edge of the window glass frame hits it and tries to drive it up. Now the window doesn't close all the way. Nice big gap. Seems all these suppliers are getting them from the same source overseas, has anyone found any that are made correctly????

I just don't understand why these vendors just think supplying a part that is not correct is OK.
Well enough whining, they are all the same from the same off-shore low bid supplier. Since this one is chamming up at the rear edge, I thought I would try to make it work better. I loosened the rear channel guide located on the striker side on the door, the one held with 2 3/8 headed bolt. Moved the wiper away from the door and filled the gap with some RTV to glue it to the edge of the door. I rolled the window up partially and stuck wedges in there to force the wiper over as far as possible. |
Re: Anti rattle, window wiper strips
Well it didn't fix the problem. Still gets caught on the edge of the channel the window sits in. Not sure what to do now, I can see the window moving over when it get to that area. Since I have 3 pieces of the set left, I guess I could try to replace them as a pair on that side.

Re: Anti rattle, window wiper strips
I had the same problem with only the outside. I ended up pulling off the fasteners and screwed in 3 small screws at the hieghth I needed. I was like you and ordered from three different companies and they were all the same even after talking to one of the sales reps.

LMC and Brothers did the same thing to me. 60-62 have a different design. I found mine in Classic Parts .com. Good luck!!
