any tips for repainting V6 hood emblem?
The title says it all. Has anyone done a nice restore on one?(or two) Using a brush doesn't seem like it would come out real nice, is it best to carefully mask and spray? What type paint? Something that won't oxidize? I don't want them to look like crap in a year or two, even if the rest of my restore doesn't hold up. God bless America and the 305, powered with V6 and proud!

Back in high school, a friend and I restored some emblems by brushing enamel sign paint in then putting them in a 250 degree oven to let the paint flow out smooth. Turned out nice.

Dembo, I use an Airbrush with enamel paint then clearcoat. I just did a set for a friend. PM me on this.

I had mine sandblasted. Then I painted them the same ivory color as the bumper. The I taped them up and trimmed with an Xacto blade. Painted the blue and then the red-orange. I used the same red-orange as the hubcaps.

The blasting is the ticket here to get the detail. We went with the bumper ivory but I think they were white originally.
