Carb Number deciphering

Happy Holidays to All and I hope you're all doing well!
I am asking if some one can read this carb number. It looks to be over stamped with the part number. This came off of a 1967 351E so its a Stromberg WWC. It was free and I was going to rebuild it. Let's see what you can see...and thanks for your input. Henry |
Re: Carb Number deciphering
Best guess 23-197a VERIFIED ON "THE CARBURETOR SHOP"'S WEBSITE.

Re: Carb Number deciphering
Thanks Lewis!
I’ll look them up |
Re: Carb Number deciphering
What is the jagged blackout at the right side? If there is an "A" after the far right "7", they are the same number. Otherwise they are the same number and one has an "A" and the other does not. Carb Shop shows 1967 351 for 23-197. Do not see an "A". But there was an "A" revision carb.

Re: Carb Number deciphering
Thank you AZKen, it was hard to read and again I though it was a GMC Part number.
Appreciate all the input and reference to the Carb Shop too. |
Re: Carb Number deciphering
23-197 is a Bendix-Stromberg number. The GM part number for that carburetor is 8867232, and it's WWC for a 351E without an AIR pump. When you rebuild it, pay particular attention to the air horn (top cover) and make sure that the bottom is perfectly flat. Common problem with the WWC was over-tightening the air cleaner wing nut would pull up and distort the air horn, and cause an internal vacuum leak. Other than that, the WWC was a good carburetor

Then get the part number, links to a rebuild kit, common problems to look for, the history of the carb, and it's parent's DNA sample mailed to the front door. Try doing that with most places and all you get is blank stares or some 15 year old kid telling you you're retarded for not buying some cheap chinese junk for 15.00 on bingbong.china.com :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: |

I once believed that in the Great United States of America that an honest election could/would occur and that the Courts would uphold the Constitution which the Country was based on.

Re: Carb Number deciphering
Well looks like I offended everyone, even Lizzie and I didn't even hack the election! :ahhhh:
If you're offended I'd like to send you a gift of apology. Send me your address and I'll send you a big crate of TWO, that's right, TWO residents of Bingbong china, that are obviously not spies interested in talking you into running for political office (obviously!). These two BingBongians will happily fulfill your every wish. Especially if your name is anything close to "Eric" or "Swalwell". Just write your address on the back of any dirty $20 bill and send it to: Fet Chmia Pep-Si 42 Ho Chi Min Trail WalaWalaBingBong, Tai Chi, 66666 Free Country of North Vietnam (Not affiliated with China, Inc or it's subsidiaries...No, really we promise!) I eagerly await your response, honorable friends! :deadhorse: <---- Join us for dinner! |

Re: Carb Number deciphering
The USA did have a fair and honest election that the Supreme Court and the constitution has upheld and we are fortunate to escape the ruin of our democracy by a wanna be dictator. Merry Christmas

I'm no die-hard Trump supporter, and I don't know that Trump won, but I know for a fact that things were not honest. Too much video to the contrary that everyone seems happy to ignore. And on the Supreme court, the Texas suit was a dispute between the states, which is their main job. They HAVE to hear the case, even if they rule against it. The fact that they didn't is just astounding. What would they prefer, war between Texas and Pennsylvania? Without anyone to settle differences (as the constitution states) that's the only other option, fighting it out like schoolyard kids. I don't know what makes them think they can shirk responsibility like that. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Gotta pay attention to politicians. They like to chicken pluck you and train you to rely on them. Google Stalin Chicken pluck for a good time. |
