Midwest Truck Nationals
They are in Riverside, Mo. on the 9th-11th of Sept. Is anybody going or has anybody gone previous years? Just wondering what kind of an event it is and if what your impression of it was? :signthankspin: Dave

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
I've been going since 2009.
It's a great event and usually has over 200 trucks in the show. It's free to the spectators and 30 bucks to enter the show. Stovebolt.com has a good showing every year there and thats where I'll be. http://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ Here is some info. http://www.alltrucknats.com/ Be there and join our group. 2-Ton |

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Hey fellow truck nuts. I.m planning on attending and coming from Ohio. My 65 GMC is currently being painted and in dis-assembly, but still want to come to the Midwest to see the GMCs and talk to the people who own and lust after them. Hope to see you guys and gals there.

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Don,
Love that Firetruck!!!!!!!!!!! You bringing it to the show? I thought I was the only one **** fool crazy enough to buy firetrucks. Not sure if you were a part of the original group but back then I had a 66 6500(?) Firetruck with a 401 Magnum and also bought/sold a 69 Ford Cabover. Firetrucks are the best at being unique. It is usually a pretty safe bet that when you take one to a show/cruise/wherever you'll be the only one there with one. With that being said, More info on this get-together in Sept? Who's going? When they gonna be there? Is my '78 GMC welcome? Anyway we can park together? I'm in St Louis so it wouldn't be that bad of a drive. Please keep me informed. Dave (aka RustyNut) |
Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Just looked at the stovebolt blog. Saw someone going by Rusty64 in St. Peters. Anyway to contact him direct? Would like to find out what his/her/their plans are. Possibly travel together.

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Rusty
Just seen this thread and you are more than welcome to hang with our group. All pre 72 GM trucks are welcome. Wife and I will be headed there Thursday and may stop off at Booneville for the Thresher Show on the way. I've heard it's a big event. http://www.mrvsea.com/ Rusty 64 (Kevin) will be there as well as many from all parts of the country, Canada, and Australia. I'll see if I can hook you up with Rusty64. It's a great bunch and we don't just talk about trucks and cars. We get to know each other and become life long friends. Get more info here on the agenda and lodging. http://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/...ANSAS_CIT.html When you drive into the park, just say you are with the Stovebolt group and they will direct you right to us. If you want to park your truck with us, you will have to register for the show, whether you get judged or not. It all goes to charity and I only showed one time when the 46 2-ton grain truck, was used for the stage all weekend. I'll probably have a 48 3/4 that we use for "how to" talks and a chalkboard. Thanks for the comment about the ladder truck and yes, it does draw a lot of attention, anywhere I take it. But no, it will not be at the show. Weighing in at 25,800 lb and gets about 3 mpg, I'll be leaving it in the barn. Don |
Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
My '78 GMC would not be welcome?

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Dave
You are welcome to hang with us, even if you don't have a pre 72 GM product. Just like old trucks and you'll be welcome in the group. Heck, I'll be driving a 2000 F-250 and will probably park with the gang. Just be there and get to know us. Don |
Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Next weekend! Be there or be square. :poke:

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
A lot of the original gang will remember I am always willing to travel to meet folks in this group.
I was looking forward to meeting members this weekend, but an A**hole I work(ed) with FINALLY got fired today. It was well deserved and I am glad to see him go. Unfortunately I am going to have to cover "On Call" for the weekend. It sucks, but in the long run it will make my job easier. Rusty |
Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Rusty
Sorry you can't make it. The Stovebolt group will have about 20+ trucks and the the show will draw 200+, depending on the weather. Nice day is forecast for Saturday, so it should be a good turnout. Don |
Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
I met up with the Stovebolt gang at Midwest truck nationals, great time great bunch. I took my 702 v12 , won loudest exhaust, and that is at 2200 -2400 rpm, can not imagine what they sound like when cranked up to 4000 or 5000 rpm.

Bob
Thanks for bringing that massive engine. One comment was, It shook the ground. I hope you and your family felt welcome in our group. There are no rules that say, you can't be a part of more than one forum. Been looking for you to sign in and even checked, there are no V12Bob sign on names on the Bolt. Even if you don't sign up, we expect you to be there and win that trophy again next year. Don |

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Don. We had a lot of fun, will plan on next year. I am going to join stovebolt, been real busy getting my 64 Gmc suburban ready for A shoe Sat. in Ottawa Ks. There was 1700 cars last year. Anyone in the midwest should try to make that one.

Re: Midwest Truck Nationals
Pics kinda P*SS me off even more about not being able to make it.....
I'm gonna be even madder if I got to cancel my trip with daughter to whitewater raft the Gauley River in W. Va. October 8th. One of the premier whitewater rivers in the country and it only runs 6 weekends a year. Anyway, What's the chance of making the Midwest National an official site of a GMC "Mini-Meet" next year? I know there are several folks in Kansas (had a few together in Wichita last year) and with the right planning maybe some of the "Old Group Mini-Meet Gang" Arthur, Ed, Jolly, Pete, Rick and myself (sorry if I left anyone out) get together once again. If the OP can keeps of informed next years event hopefully we can make this the best "Mini-Meet" to date!!!!!! Rusty |
