1960 GMC 3500 Value help
Ok so I need some help. I am looking at this truck and am looking at saving it from the crusher its a 1960 GMC 3500. It has a small block chevy/4 speed in it right now and the last pic is of a serial number of a 305 with a 4 speed else where in the yard. My plan is to get it with the V6/4 speed and a stepside to replace the existing bed and to eventually make a extended /crew cab out of it and it will be a hauler for me. What would be a fair offer for the Truck minus the current driveline, the V6/4 speed and the Long Bed stepside

Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
I can't say what would be a fair price but it looks to be in great condition. Save it if you can.

Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
If it runs and drives I'd say no more than $3000. If it doesn't....no more than $1500.....cause that's one heavy beast to tow out of there. lol

Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
So update on the second yard, has about a dozen 60-66 GM Trucks of mixed Chevy and GMC Including two Suburban's. Also a GMC 6500 on roughly 67+ body style. 4 305's of different vintage C's and E's have the feelers out for the price of the suburban shell as I's like to cut it down and make an extended cab long bed 1961 GMC 3500

Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
There is a page on the website that will explain the value of old trucks.
What's This Old GMC Truck Worth? |
Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
Thanks. Though it only helps the assessment of the condition and not it's. Value. I was hoping you guys could help me figure out what it's fair market value is.

Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
I think TJ gave you a good range. I'd offer $500 and see what he thinks of that then go up to TJ's numbers.
One more thing, your pics are broken. It says you moved them. :( |
Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
Here they are again. I rearranged my photo bucket getting rid of a lot of old not needed pictures. http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/436.jpghttp://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/437.jpghttp://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/440.jpghttp://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/450.jpghttp://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/451.jpghttp://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/453.jpghttp://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/455.jpghttp://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Truck/459.jpg

Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
Oh heck yeah I'd start with $500. Most people don't know what they have anyway. If he's wanting to get rid of it he might jump at it.
"$500 if I get it out of there and arrange transport?" Then put a little gas in the carb, fire it up, and drive it off :upyes: |
Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
Thats a nice looking truck. It appears to have Dayton style wheels on the rears. I didn't recognize the fronts but at least they are not the dreaded Rh5's that you usually see on these. Thats a big bonus in my opinion. I think TJ has it nailed on price, but I'm with Pepsi, offer $500 and see where it goes.

Re: 1960 GMC 3500 Value help
If its going to the Crusher, offer scrap price, should tip the scale at around 7000 lbs.
