Re: V6 water pumps getting hard to find
Pontiac V-8's up to 1959 had reverse-flow cooling, maybe that explains the different impeller:

Re: V6 water pumps getting hard to find
Interesting. Though the aftermarket water pump (GMB 1302835) I bought from Rockauto for a 1963 Pontiac Tempest with the 326ci V8 (which is past 1960, so the correct cooling system) is the suitable water pump for a light-duty V6. Vanes face the same way, and it is a direct bolt-in.

Re: V6 water pumps getting hard to find
BTW, Summit Racing has the GNB 130-2835's back in stock.

Welcome to the Forum KiwiGMC!
This one listed for the 305 V6, dimensionally the same as the 351. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c...ter+pump&pos=0 eBay Big Bucks https://www.ebay.com/itm/17460755653...Bk9SR4aPxZejZA |
Re: V6 water pumps getting hard to find
The 4 bolt flange water pumps are out there, you just need to hunt a bit. Try looking up a water pump for a '57 Pontiac Star Chief with a 347 V-8, the pump listed for that car these days is the same one for a GMC V-6. Lewis Matkin pointed this out earlier and he is right.
