It very well could have been originally, and Mono city could have got it from the state.

Welcome Mike, that a great looking truck. The fact that it runs after sitting for probably most of its life just goes to show you how awesome these engines were. Try doing that with today's motors and...well, good luck getting it to crank!

For the bedliner, you can try Citristripper (iirc) to get it off. Coincidentally, citristripper was my stage name in college!
:teehee:

LOL,
Thanks Fetch! Indeed it runs great, sits and lopes 500-600 rpm at idle.
I’ll try that stripper, the paint stripper that is!

Whoever ordered this truck did a good job. It’s got the bigger engine, the biggest rear axle and the full gauge package. The fire department probably added dual batteries. I think there were two transfer case choices, not sure which It has yet, but it’s big, well everything is pretty big on this thing.

Looking for the "grill surround” for the big trucks, it’s a little bigger than the pickup’s. They cut mine out for the siren. Anyone have an idea where one might be? Or a chrome front bumper, or any parts for the "big trucks"? Thanks Mike

Re: 1965 GMC K4000 & Intro

Hey guys,
Got a new question. My truck is a 4000, and the cab is painted with bed liner. I found a pretty nice vin# 3505 I’m assuming is a 3500. The biggest difference I can see is my fender flares are much bigger. This 3500’s flares are big, bigger than a normal pickup, but not nearly as big as 4000’s. My question is are the cabs interchangeable? Or what are the differences?
Thanks
Mike

Well gentlemen I have the same truck but mine's two-wheel drive and it only says 4000 on it ,and it has a 351E V6. What does the k stand for?
Unfortunately the data played in mine as long since gone as well as the glove box.
All I know about mine is it's got 8100 mi on it and until I picked it up it was parked for 44 years out behind a barn because nobody could drive it.
