I also believe it is a 4000, mainly due to the GVW. It's unfortunate that someone took off those tags.

The V-6 Emblems were on the side of the hood originally. Someone either took them off and filled the holes or you possibly have a Chevy hood. Post a picture of the front of the truck when you get a chance.
