Re: '58 370 Series Dumptruck
I'm heading out for Bend in the wee hours of tomorrow morning.
I am going to bring it home on the '66....expecting some dicey rds over and east of the Cascades, so it's a race to get over & back before it gets too fun. And, yes....FTR, it will be a rather "full" load for the ol' '66. |

Well, by the time I had her loaded, blocked and chained down, it was later in the day than I had hoped for.
No big deal...I was tired, wet and cold.....looking forward to a warm cab and a soft seat....so I headed for home. Other than a few stops to check the load, things came off slicker than a whistle. The '66 ran and drove as it should......What a GREAT old truck. Absolutely and definitely as fine a piece of equipment as any you can find on the road today. The '58 weighed in right at 10K lbs....and with the combined wind drag had to be quite a load for the '66. Well, other than dropping a couple gears on the east side of mount Hood for the grade.....the '66 shined on like the day it rolled out of the Assembly Line. It certainly made that top heavy load seem like the daily grind. |

Well here's the latest. Couple shots under the dash. Pretty seat sitting in my living room. Gauge panels are looking nice ready to go back in. I Can't Tell You Why the pictures are sideways.

I wish my seat looked that good! Springs are on my list of things to replace. Did you just order up a whole new one or have it rebuilt? |
