Dont forget about the Chevy 153 Four. it's been bored out to 181 (?) CID for marine and industrial applications. Still in production and equipped a lot of USPS Jeeps. I think the 181 with 140 HP and around 180 ft/lb of torque would go nicely in any CJ. The Jeepers seem to really dig them on CJ-6's and earlier.
